Acorn Founded
Acorn Maintenance Engineering (AME) was founded by Richard Peperell in October 1984. The company was incorporated as Acorn Maintenance Ltd trading as Acorn Maintenance Engineering on 14th October 1987 as a private limited company.
First and Longest Standing Client
Our first ever and now our longest standing client, United International Pictures signed up for our Planned Preventative Maintenance services in 1984 and we have been delivering this service ever since.
Marsh Environmental
In August 1999, Marsh Environmental was formed as a subsidiary company of the Acorn Group. Marsh Environmental provide environmental monitoring, water treatment and hygiene services.
Acorn House, Slough
In April 2007, Acorn relocated from Kensington to Acorn House in Slough which remains the head office today.

In November 2007, our inspiring company ethos and culture was recognised and supported by the Investor in People accreditation and has since been upgraded to Silver standard.

Acorn signs up to ROSPA approved Human Focus, a health and safety initiative for all employees underpinning the Group's total commitment to health and safety.
Network Rail HQ
AIS completes ground breaking BMS project to control the new HQ of Network Rail in Milton Keynes, one of the first fully automated naturally ventilated buildings in Europe.
AIS BMS
AIS BMS was formed as a limited company on 1st June 2012. AIS BMS is a dedicated Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) maintenance and energy solutions company.
The Planet Mark
Acorn first achieved The Planet Mark accreditation in partnership with Planet First measuring carbon footprint and demonstrating our committment to sustainability.
Client Portal
In June 2014, Acorn launches their new bespoke client portal, making life easier for their clients, an online storage area for all building maintenance reports.
Well Being & Charity
Acorn launch their internal well being campaign which helps employees focus on their health and well being. In conjunction they launch the Charity campaign, where Acorn contribute to employee nominated charitable causes.
Building Trust
Acorn defines it's brand identity and launches Building Trust to employees and clients, providing clarity of purpose in everything they do.
Reach Out
Acorn releases first edition of new internal magazine, Reach Out keeping all employees up to date on the latest company news and events.
New London Office
In May 2016 Acorn reaffirms it's London presence by opening an office in King William Street, London.
